preschool and Kindergarten

These three levels of classes give the dancer a knowledge of tempo, levels, energy, and shapes. Imagery such as colors, emotions, and nature help excite the imagination. Pre-ballet and movement skills will also be introduced. Tap is introduced in Level C. Ages 2 through 6.

ballet

All students are encouraged to study ballet because it is a remarkable training tool for understanding and executing proper alignment and technique. This aids every style dancer in becoming an efficient and effective mover. Dancers find they progress much faster when they study ballet. Ages 1st grade and up.

contemporary

An exciting genre that utilizies Modern, Lyrical, Jazz, and Ballet techniques this class will allow the students to express emotion through their body and develop a more powerful stage presence. Ages 4th grade and up.

Tap

This exciting class develops rhythmic skills and coordination. It is a favorite with children because they get to make noise with their feet! The dancers will be exposed to swing, boogie-woogie, musical theater, and be-bop. For Level C preschool and kindergarten and up.

Hip Hop Dance

Hip Hop dance evolved from African American communities and has evolved into the dynamic art it is today. This style incorporates the latest music with a broad spectrum of today’s movement while emphasizing individual expression. A knowledge of ballet and contemporary is helpful. Ages 2nd grade and up.

Jazz

Contemporary music makes this class extra fun while the dancer gains flexibility, strength, and classic technique. Some of the many forms of jazz dance are musical theater, lyrical, and “classic jazz”. A knowledge of ballet is helpful. 3rd grade and up.

tumbling

In Tumbling class the students get the opportunity to turn the world upside down! Tumbling challenges a dancer’s strength, coordination, flexibility, and balance while teaching skills that add flair to choreography.

pointe

Pointe should be studied when the student is sufficiently strong and possesses an understanding of ballet technique, not before. The student must have had 3 years of ballet, be in a ballet class, and have instructor permission. Approximately 13 and up.

musical theatre Dance

The musical theatre class will incorporate different dance techniques while staying true to Broadway-inspired choreography and music. Dancers will fine- tune their performance and stage skills while they learn different styles choreography and movement. Ages 3rd grade and up.
